Check with seller Access Center Representative- Remote Detroit

General Summary: Under general direction, provides support to the system-wide call center that handles large volumes of telephone, web, text chat, e-mail, mail, fax requests from consumers for access/assistance in scheduling diagnostic services, Physician Referral/Appointments, communicating surgical arrival times and general information on Beaumont Health services.

Essential Duties:
Requires excellent communication skills. Ensures that customers receive exceptional service through direct interaction via multi-channel communication including telephone, web site, MyBeaumont Chart, text chat, e-mail, mail, and fax.
Provides physician referrals/appointments, diagnostic appointment scheduling, conference and class registration, live chat, prep instructions and directions to inbound/outbound calls.
Maintains knowledge of insurance requirements. Performs real-time insurance verification and interprets responses. Informs patient of insurance requirements for services provided. (Authorizations/pre-certifications)
Maintains knowledge of Clinical Diagnosis codes and basic anatomy as it relates to procedures available through central scheduling.
Communicates with referring physician offices to obtain clarity of orders and required documentation for services.
Displays broad knowledge of overall services offered by Beaumont Health. Handles inbound and outbound calls with the goal of growing business, customer satisfaction, and customer retention, providing ease of access to Beaumont Health services.
Understanding of EPIC, Microsoft Office, and SharePoint.
Some general administrative duties including but not exclusive to: faxing, copying, sending letters/faxes/e-mails to consumers.
Critical thinking skills, ability to multitask and succeed in a rapidly changing environment

Standard Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
1-2 years related experience in healthcare, customer service or call center experience; or currently enrolled in coding or clinical educational program.

Other Qualifications:
Must possess strong oral communication skills (good voice quality, grammar, and articulation).
Requires basic knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
Strong written skills. Ability to read and interpret written information. Strong listening skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and problem solving skills.
Proficiency with Windows applications and basic computer literacy.
