Compensation Analyst - Job Description

The Compensation Analyst is responsible for the development and administration of market-competitive compensation programs. This includes analyzing, evaluating, and classifying new and existing jobs, utilizing external and internal market data to make appropriate recommendations. This role will collaborate with leadership and HR staff to identify needed improvements and enhancements to existing practices. The ideal candidate will exhibit grace under pressure, have a keen eye for accuracy, detail, and organization, and enjoy working in a high-deliverable, time-sensitive, fast-paced environment. This position is considered exempt and is not eligible for additional pay if overtime hours are worked.

Job Responsibilities:
Designs, implements, and administers the compensation program to attract and retain employee talent.
Prepares and presents summary reports of job analysis, classification of exempt and nonexempt, appropriate salary range, along with compensation analysis information.
Partners with external consultants and vendors, researches and analyzes market data, and prepares recommendations to ensure desired competitive market position is maintained.
Participates in various industry benchmarking surveys. Gathers survey results data to assess results and identify market trends and changes in compensation practices.
Provides support to Talent Management and Finance teams on annual merit increase and promotion process.
Partners with HR leadership team to identify and build HR Compensation Strategy based on organization’s philosophy and business objectives.
Monitors the regulatory and legislative landscape for impacts on compensation programs.
Responsible for production and quality of materials requested by leadership, including compensation model, compensation risk assessment, and other materials as needed/requested.
Partners with the Benefits Manager to create competitive, cost-effective benefits package proposals for the organization.
Performs other duties as required.

Job Qualifications:
Minimum three years as Compensation Analyst required
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field required
Must possess strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
Ability to exercise sound and timely judgment and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information
Exceptional customer service skills
Excellent organizational skills and ability to pay close attention to detail
Proficient with all Microsoft Office applications with the ability to accurately input data
Excellent written and verbal communications
The position requires working both independently and as a member of a team with a strong sense of urgency and initiative.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

Preferences:
Staffing Industry experience
Travel Nursing experience
Medical field or terminology background
Project Management experience a plus
Experience in UKG/Ultimate Software experience preferred
