The Idaho Department of Labor has a current opening for a full-time Financial Specialist in Boise. This position will perform various professional financial duties requiring application of accounting principles and practices.

Example of Duties

Prepare accounting entries.
Analyze cost accounting data to report quarterly on current period and cumulative cash draws and expenditures for all grants that provide a majority of the Department's funding.
Review and reconcile fund accounting system for federal reporting purposes.
Review and implement improvements in federal financial reporting and fund accounting.
Prepare, analyze and/or audit financial records and documents, accounting systems and work papers.
Research financial data for accuracy, reasonableness, trends, and variances to ensure compliance.
Analyze, research, maintain financial data, and develop financial documents/reports and resolve problems.
Work in collaborative situations with co-workers and supervisors on a regular basis.

Minimum Qualifications

Good knowledge of accounting principles and practices

Extra Credit: These additional qualificaitons are preferred but not required for this position. However, if you meet an additional qualification, it may increase your score.
Experience researching and analyzing financial documents to ensure compliance with grants.
Experience using Microsoft Excel to create reports.
Experience preparing and submitting federal financial reports (FFRs).
