The Ohio Department of Education Offices of Organizational Effectiveness and Human Resources seeks an Administrative Professional 4 to support a systematic approach for enhancing the performance of its operations and employees and managing the employee life cycle (recruiting, hiring, benefits and compensation, labor relations, and training and development). Assists and supports office leaders and team members with human resource functions, equity initiatives, implementation activities, audits, and agency-wide projects. This position reports to the Chief of Organizational Effectiveness.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Provides administrative and non-routine administrative support for office leadership (i.e., independently formulates decisions and/or judgments involving non-legal interpretation of policies and procedures as they would apply to given situations to resolve problems, to prepare correspondence and/or reports and to carry out other assignments) and on agency projects and equity initiatives including:
coordinates and schedules meetings; maintains calendars;
responds to correspondence in writing and/or by telephone;
communicates decisions, directives and/or assignments to appropriate staff;
assist with preparing and distributing meeting agendas;
attends meetings, takes notes, compiles documentation and creates minutes and meeting reports;
operates personal computer to maintain, organize and archive electronic and paper files and information;
creates surveys, collects survey data, and analyzes results; coordinates requests for information across multiple offices including tracking status of requests, compiling information and creating draft reports;
creates PowerPoint presentations;
documents office policies and procedures;
submits and monitors requests for granting and revoking access to various Department systems;
post content on webpages; and maintains inventory of general office supplies and orders as needed including entering purchase order requisitions.
Provides administrative support for Hiuman Resource functions (recruiting, hiring, payroll and benefits, labor relations, and training and development) including:
enters routine talent acquisition information in various systems such as Recruit OnBoard and OAKS;
assists with employee reference checks; maintains and updates tables of organization;
monitors acknowledgements and signatures on required forms;
assist with creating routine reports regarding position vacancies, employee statistics and recruiting/hiring efforts;
answers and responds to telephone inquiries for Human Resources, screens and forwards calls appropriately;
assists with requests for remote work equipment and work options agreements;
and may assist with scheduling talent acquisition interviews.
Assists with administrative tasks, related state and federal audits and projects assigned to the Department’s Implementation Unit.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Completion of associate core coursework in secretarial science or business office applications from accredited career school or community college; 12 mos. exp. in secretarial/administrative professional field.
