Geiger, the largest family-owned promotional products company, seeks an experienced, knowledgeable, energetic Benefits and Wellbeing Administrator. This is a newly created position that will perform administrative assistance in delivering employee benefits.

The Benefits and Wellbeing Administrator is responsible for the operational support functions to effectively service and properly perform the day-to-day administrative operations of Geiger’s U.S. health and welfare benefits plans and programs for employees and COBRA participants. This position is responsible for the continued creation and implementation of programs, resources, and training that will expand the offerings of Geiger’s current wellbeing program for the corporation.

The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills as this role will serve as a resource to all associates and COBRA participants who have questions about their benefits and to process all benefit requests in a timely and accurate manner. The Benefits and Wellbeing Administrator will also be responsible for researching, benchmarking, and recommending improved benefits offerings for US associates and assist with creating a similar suite for our UK counterparts. This role will be responsible for providing high-quality and on-time delivery of benefit administration services with optimal customer service.

  • Ensures data privacy, security, and integrity of all benefits-related information.
  • Performs the enrollment process within ADP (e.g., new hires/adds/status changes/terms) for the benefits and 401k programs and ensures that the benefits data and information is collected and managed in ADP and other relevant systems. Processes qualified status changes in a timely manner. Informs Payroll Specialist about any required payroll adjustments.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact to answer inquiries regarding the benefits plans (e.g., eligibility, forms, customer service number, general plan questions). Educates participants by providing clear and complete information.
  • Acts as a liaison between the employees and the company insurance broker, third-party administrator, and various insurance carriers for all levels of benefits questions and requests. Thoroughly research escalated issues and clearly communicate back to the individual.
  • Lead Geiger’s annual open enrollment process including developing open enrollment timelines, communications, follow-ups, and collateral pieces. Creates edits and maintains appropriate procedure documentation for all tasks related to the benefits program.
  • Processes and verifies carrier premium invoice reports and ensures timely payments
  • Analyzes current Geiger’s current benefit utilization and costs. Researches and recommends methods of improved health and welfare benefits offerings with an eye to cost containment and employee satisfaction.
  • Back-up support for other team members as needed including switchboard, new hire orientation, and other HR-related activities.
Leave Coordination

  • Process Life & Disability paperwork related to life and disability claims. Issue payments as needed to subsidize the second week of the waiting period for disability claims. Ensure communication and documentation related to return to work. Resolve claims issues.
  • Perform FMLA recordkeeping duties to ensure accurate tracking of FMLA absences. Work with managers and associates to monitor and manage absences and return-to-work issues.
  • Workers Compensation. The process required forms to submit claims for work-related injuries. Work with associates, OHN, Claims Adjusters, and Supervisors to monitor, manage and develop strategies for handling claims for the best possible outcome for the associate and Geiger. Represent Geiger at mediation and other legal proceedings related to workers’ comp claims. Compose letters documenting job offers or other personnel actions related to work-related injuries.
  • Maintain OSHA required records including the annual posting of OSHA-300 log.
  • Perform a variety of Insurances duties related to compliance with COBRA and HIPAA regulations. Guide the development and maintenance of documented compliance policies and procedures
  • Research 401(k) annual census data. Maintain, prepare and submit a variety of correspondence, records, forms, and schedules as required by state and federal agencies such as the Internal Revenue Service, Department of labor, and other regulatory agencies.

  • Build awareness and engagement in health and wellbeing strategies through programing and effective communication strategies
  • Identify and implement resources and initiatives that provide improved wellbeing for all Geiger associates.
  • Identify, coordinate and evaluate wellbeing-related learning opportunities in alignment with Geiger’s nine elements of wellbeing through targeted KPIs and ROI metrics.
  • Systematically track, evaluate, and identify improvement opportunities driven by actionable behavior outcomes and measurements
  • Advocate for health promotion strategies utilizing policy, environmental,al and system initiatives
  • Manage Geiger’s annual biometrics screening program including partnering with our TPA, Lab Partners, and other healthcare practitioners.
  • Manages company’s HRA incentives program in partnership with TPA
What you need:
  • Knowledge of relevant firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), with the ability to learn new software and operating systems
  • Strong knowledge of health and welfare benefits administrative procedures and applicable laws
  • Strong math/analytical aptitude, demonstrates close attention to detail
  • Strong computer skills; proficiency in MS Excel (proficient knowledge of formulas and functions; ability to perform VLOOKUP preferred)
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Ability to work well in a demanding and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work well independently as well as effectively within a team
  • Flexibility to adjust hours and work the hours necessary to meet operating and business needs
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and take direction from senior leadership
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to deal courteously/effectively with others
  • 1+ years of experience working in a benefits capacity using ADP required.
  • Prior experience with coordinating and managing a corporate wellbeing program preferred.
  • Two years’ experience working with Worker’s Comp, FMLA, and OSHA requirements is essential
