We are presently recruiting for full-time Front Office Registrars for our Dental Service in Stratford and Bridgeport locations
The Dental Front Office Registrar is responsible for answering phone calls, scheduling and canceling appointments and calling patients for appointment reminders. The Dental Front Office Registrar greets patients, help patients fill out paperwork, obtain insurance information, and collects payment at the time of the service. The Dental Front Office Registrar also pulls dental charts and prepares pre-work and files charts in chart room.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Must have a friendly and outgoing personality and must greet all visitors (with a smile) maintaining a professional attitude at all times.
2. Answer phones by third ring, schedule and/or cancel appointments, and obtain necessary pertinent information on patients. Perform daily calls to patients.
3. Sign in all dental patients. Verify all information against the chart and computer, updating with current information. Preparation of routing slip along with appropriate insurance forms verifying eligibility under insurance and/or sliding fee scale.
4. Prepare chart for new and existing patients obtaining and verifying all information. Update chart with changes in address, family size or status, employer or income, updating information on the computer.
5. Verify all information relative to insurance and applicable co-pay, including verification of sliding fee scale.
6. Collect deposits, co-pays and/or deductibles prior to the patient being seen by the provider per established insurance policy. Inform patient of their outstanding balance if any, collect said balance, and issue cash receipt when monies are collected.
7. Responsible for the processing of request for dental information following the established Medical Records Protocols and HIPPA policies and procedures.
8. Responsible for the maintenance of all dental record charts which include the filing of documents, including but not limited to, lab reports and any and all documents which may be receive.
9. Follow up on “no show” patients on a daily basis.
10. Responsible and accountable for patient cash, daily posting of cash receipts and the processing and completion of encounters, including daily trial balancing.
11. Maintaining Dental front desk in accordance with OSHA and HIPPA policies and procedures and maintaining cleanliness and neatness of reception and waiting areas.
12. Required to fill in for Front Office Registrars at other sites when necessary and required to work at least one late night a week a
13. Perform other duties as required, i.e., telephone operation, pre-treatment verification of coverage, referral maintenance, and other duties that may be assigned on a day to day basis.

Qualifications
ADDITIONAL GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Professional attitude, vision, understanding of customer service principals, trustworthiness, and excellent interpersonal skills to successfully accomplish tasks necessary to meet high standards of ethical and social responsibility required by this position.
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience: At Least 2 Years Prior Experience in the Dental field Required LANGUAGE SKILLS: Spanish Speaking Preferred
