Duties
Maintains the District Engineer's calendar showing appointments, movements, and conferences. DE's calendar is updated continuously on the District's Staff LAN.
Makes travel arrangements as necessary for the District Engineer (DE), Deputy District Engineer (DDE), Executive Officer (XO) and Deputy District Engineer for Programs and Project Management (DDE-PM) as required.
Provides continuity of the administrative work and procedural aspects of the office operations during changes in incumbency or during frequent temporary absences from the District Office.
Utilizes the District automated financial management system to process a variety of transactions i.e., purchase requests and commitments, time and attendance and maintain labor records for office personnel.
Serves as the division coordinator for management controls and audit items, preparing final documentation after coordination within the division.

In order to qualify, you must meet the requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify for the GS-07, you must show one year of specialized experience at the GS-06, or equivalent on your resume. Specialized Experience is defined as:
1) Prepare travel orders for organization staff;
2) Input data in support of a timekeeping program through use of an automated system;
3) Prepare read ahead documentation for supervisor; AND
4) Review correspondence for grammatical and content appropriateness

Selection will be at the GS-07, with promotion potential to the GS-08
