The Idaho Commission of Pardons and Parole is an independent body appointed by the Governor. The Commission is committed to the protection of the public, the rights of victims and to the fair and individualized assessment of each offender.

The Commission of Pardons and Parole is currently accepting applications for a Violation Hearing Officer Supervisor to oversee the Commission parole violation process, supervise violation hearing officers and serve as second in command of the agency and acting Director in the Director's absence.

Example of Duties

Responsible for ensuring reports are completed timely and accurately, and address performance issues concerning staff
Supervise staff and identify and guide performance and professional development needs
Carry a partial caseload and complete violation hearings in adherence with statutory time limits to ensure appropriate due process
Make decisions, solve problems and ensure smooth agency communication and operations in director's absence
Participate in leadership team meetings; collaborate with team members to problem solve and make decisions with guidance of the Executive Director
Research and interpret federal, state and other laws, and best practices
Supervise staff and identify and guide performance and professional development needs

Minimum Qualifications

Competency in management and demonstrated leadership skills.
Examples of qualifying background: Typically this requires considerable experience managing a major program and leadership of professional staff. Candidates may also qualify through upper division college-level management coursework and experience in a significant leadership role.
