Job Summary: Core responsibilities of this position include:
Under the general direction of the Manger, Creative Marketing, the Specialist, Marketing is a full-time, benefited, position responsible for assisting with marketing campaigns, analyzing marketing data and developing marketing collateral. This position will collaborate with various College departments and teams to build and identify strategic marketing initiatives, goals, trends and appropriate marketing platforms while assisting with campaign development and monitoring. They will also work with multiple departments to develop and create marketing materials. Representative responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting with development and monitoring of large campaigns, oversight of micro-campaigns writing content or development of creative for these items. The Specialist, Marketing, will participate in the review of market data provided by third-parties, analyzing data and working with the Manager, Creative Marketing to implement strategic strategies for current and future campaigns. This position will analyze market conditions and market positioning; develop and execute detailed marketing plans, meeting with stakeholders, developing strategic plans to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and/or goals such as enrollment growth, fundraising initiatives, event attendance, athletic support, etc.

Essential Functions:

The Specialist, Marketing position is part of the Marketing & Communications team tasked with campaign development, market analysis, development of marketing collateral and participating in marketing strategy for Laramie County Community College.

Campaign Development and Assistance:
Under the direction of the Manager, Creative Marketing develop micro-campaigns, with short-term goals and immediate impact for the college and assist with larger campaigns.
Measure and analyze campaigns, the effectiveness, reach, and return on investment (ROI) for the college.
Efficiently measure and report on marketing and advertising effectiveness.
Utilizing data from third-parties, forecast trends, anticipated changing market environments impacting the College’s marketing and advertising operations.
Research best demonstrated practices, marketing strategies, and changes to target demographics; adapt information and techniques to the College’s strategic needs.
Meet with internal stakeholders to establish a full understanding of stakeholders needs, requirements, and opportunities as they relate to marketing and strategic goals.

Marketing Collateral Development:
Identify and develop content to be used in a bi-monthly e-newsletter and other forms of communication for LCCC stakeholders., both external and internal.
Monitor, evaluate and report on success of digital content.
Collaborate with the marketing team to support the production of marketing materials, and execution of plans, advertising, campaigns, and initiatives.
When required and as skills allow, support overall marketing through writing, graphic design, photography/videography, brainstorming, and other general design support activities.
As assigned, meet with stakeholders to research, develop, and recommend specific marketing campaigns for individualized programs, events, or campaigns.
Plan, attend, and collaborate on marketing activities, events, and initiatives.
Collaborates with team members to establish project and campaign timelines and ensure deadlines are met.

Administrative Duties:
Complete necessary forms, documentation, and reports as they relate to position functions in accordance with procedures and requirements.
Monitor budgets with assistance from the Manager, Creative Marketing, and complete financial reporting associated with job functions.
Attend, support, and participate in division events.
Assist with public and media relations as requested.
Comply with and follow regulations, College policy and procedure in execution of position functions.

Campus Communication: The Associate Vice President of Institutional Advancement will act as the College’s Public Information Officer; this position may be asked to assist with college communications, especially in the event of an emergency.

As directed by the AVP of Institutional Advancement:
In the event of an emergency, as directed, create and collaborate in initiating campus communications through College communication channels (i.e. electronic systems, emails, phone calls, etc.).
Support the AVP in helping draft communications and statements.
Support logistical needs and overall emergency operations of the department including but not limited to assisting with setup of conferences; facilitate communication to department heads; gather and research pertinent information; as directed by the AVP, contact community organizations or individuals; overall support the College’s emergency/communication response.
As required, cross train and serve as backup to team members within the departments for critical business functions.

Nonessential Functions: An employee in this position may perform some of these responsibilities on an infrequent basis.

Assists in development of annual budgets.
Assists the College in local, state, regional, or national projects and programs, board, or groups when appropriate.
Solicits feedback and implements suggestions from students and peers.
Keeps informed of current trends and new approaches to instruction via professional development activities.
As required attend college, division, and program trainings/meetings. Overnight travel may be required.
Provides Collegial assistance and mentoring for new employees within discipline area, as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge and skill in marketing, strategy, research and design.
Ability to write, design, edit, and assist in producing marketing materials including campaigns.
Ability and skill in effectively communicating and developing strategic relationships with stakeholders.
Advanced working knowledge and ability with personal computing applications – specifically Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), Adobe products (e.g., Reader, Professional), as well as database management systems.
Capable of being pro-active and taking initiative when appropriate. Adaptable and flexible plus ability to work autonomously to handle multiple projects and tight deadlines; experienced working in a professional and fast-paced environment.
Skills and abilities to perform as an organized, self-starter, and able to handle expeditiously, accurately, and confidentially the rapid receipt of communications from all sources—written, email, voice mail, one-on-one with attention to detail; able to act on own initiative while exercising reasonable judgment.
Excellent customer service skills; ability to communicate clearly with a variety of people, in one-to-one and small group settings – either face-to-face, by telephone, or by other electronic means – ability to communicate in an informative manner, effectively listen, and be able to handle escalating situations with concern and confidence.
Ability to respond to common inquiries from college faculty and staff, regulatory agencies, vendors, regional business community, and others as may be necessary.
Knowledge of basic office equipment including (but not limited to) personal computer and associated peripherals, fax machine, multi-line telephone, voice recorders, and other electronic devices.
Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Capable of exercising discretion and good judgment at all times; able to maintain a positive attitude, exhibit patience, and persistence, especially when dealing with various internal and external constituents.
Ability to effectively and professionally execute the essential functions of this position with proven capabilities in establishing appropriate professional rapport, communicating with courtesy and tact, accurately determine other’s needs, collect necessary information, and follow-through when requested.
Ability to travel when necessary.

Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; a team lift technique is required for lifts exceeding 50 pounds
Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus
The overall work environment requires the mental ability to shift focal point quickly due to interruptions; an employee must be able to mentally track multiple projects and tasking as well
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; however, there may be unexpected instances of somewhat loud sounds
Ability to effectively listen and perceive the nature of sounds and spoken words at normal speaking levels with or without correction

To successfully perform in this role, an employee must be able to address small groups, mid-size groups and on occasion, very large groups for public announcements, speeches, fundraising activities/requests, etc.; there may be multiple instances of this type of ‘public address’ role.

Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or a closely related field; degree must be from an accredited institution
Two years professional experience in marketing and/or communications
Two years of marketing analysis and research to include statistical analysis/interpretation, report and proposal writing, and campaign success/evaluation

Master’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or a closely related field; degree must be from an accredited institution
Five years professional experience in marketing and/or communications
Two years of experience writing in a marketing or advertising setting
