KIPP currently serves over 100,000 students in 242 schools across the country, including Indianapolis. KIPP Indy Public Schools (KIPP Indy) was founded in 2004 with one class of fifth grade students and has grown to educate more than 1,000 students across three schools. By the 2022-2023 school year, KIPP Indy will educate nearly 1,500 students in the Martindale-Brightwood community on the Northeast side of Indianapolis. Job Description

The Manager of Operations (MO) will play a critical role in ensuring front office protocols and region-wide operational systems run efficiently and effectively. Through providing exceptional customer service, problem-solving ability, and organizational skills, the MO will ensure all visitors, students, staff, and families who interact with the front office have a positive experience that provides them with the resources and services they need. Working closely with the operations team and school leadership, the MO will develop, transform, and execute region-wide operational systems that maximize student learning and achievement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Front Office

Provide exceptional customer service to all stakeholders and visitors who interact with the front office
Ensure front office is highly organized, welcoming, and structured efficiently for visitors, staff, and students
Manage front office systems, including visitor sign-in and communication, mail delivery, supplies maintenance, safety procedures, phone calls, package deliveries and organization of deliveries
Communicate important announcements and information to staff and students via text and the PA system
Communicate important information to administration/regional team appropriately
Execute front office responsibilities with fidelity & maximize time to accomplish daily tasks

Attendance

Support late-arriving students with signing-in and receiving a pass to go to class
Manage daily attendance tracking system to ensure accuracy, including tardies, excused and unexcused absences, and early pick-ups
Execute and record daily attendance calls for students who have not reported to school
Assist with any attendance 7 truancy follow up

Transportation

Manage system and lead communication process for transportation changes and early pick-ups
Serve as point-of-contact for transportation issues as needed and make appropriate communication to stakeholders as needed

General Operations

Support family communication and develop deep relationships with families; update student records once new information is received, including contact information, address, emergency contacts, etc.
Support families with enrollment paperwork
Serve as support staff point-of-contact for minor custodial needs
Support with building preparation in the summer months
Manage and support logistics with on and off-site special events, including family events and field lessons
Support printing and distribution of materials, including report cards, awards, testing materials, and posters
Monitor incoming and help support outgoing faxes
Collect, make copies of, and deliver important student records to the necessary stakeholders

Qualifications

Experience working or volunteering with students, families, or an urban nonprofit
Experience working with computer databases and Microsoft suite
Experience managing the operations of an office (preferred)
At least two years working in an urban school setting (preferred)
Proficient in Spanish (preferred)

COMPENSATION
Salary is competitive, commensurate with experience, and includes benefits. Teachers are also eligible for performance-based bonuses.
