The Director of Business Information, Data Governance is a critical role within the DBG Data Platform team responsible for developing our overall governance strategy which includes Data Governance, Data Quality, and Metadata and Data Management related activities. This person will support multiple relationships - partnering with leaders across Business and Technology and with other Data Management professionals across the organization to execute the Data Management Strategy and ensure adoption across DBG.

How you will make an impact:
Ownership and leadership of the Data Management program to include data model management, metadata management, universe/catalog management, master data management (codes/hierarchies/etc.), data asset management, data owner management, and data quality program management.
Develop short- and long-range plans regarding the strategic direction, requirements, and operational needs of Data Management. This includes the operational implementation of data policies and standards including documentation, maintenance, and enforcement.
Promotes processes and standards designed to maximize the value of information assets by ensuring their availability, accuracy, usefulness, and security.
Oversees data quality architecture and governance; Documents and gains consensus on business and IT service-level agreements (SLAs) for improving data quality.
Performs data quality monitoring and assurance; Develops and implements communications strategy regarding data quality.
Liaison between Business & Functional areas ensuring data related business requirements including protecting sensitive & regulated data are clearly defined/considered as part of operational prioritization & planning.
Support high-availability, high-performing, scalable and extensible single version of the truth enterprise data repositories and BI.
Develop and maintain data documentation, including artifacts that denote sources of truth and their corresponding owners.
Assists with overall funding strategy; forecast resource and budget needs and direct the evaluation of systems and technologies to meet the data management requirements of the business.
Interact and communicate with executive level stakeholders in support of organizational initiatives.
Hire, train, coach, counsel, and evaluate performance of direct reports.

Status: Full-time, Salary with Bonus Potential, Work from home.

Qualifications

Requirements

BA/BS degree
8-10 years' experience in Business Information; prior management experience
Any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background

Preferred Skillset and Experience

Experience influencing, negotiating, persuading others, facilitating meetings, and resolving conflict.
BS/BA in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
5+ years of both data management and management experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Graduate degree and/or professional designation related to field preferred.
