Position Overview

We have a great opportunity for an Jr. Business Intelligence Analyst to help us transform data and provide accurate and timely decision support to our construction and engineering business units. In this role, you will be required to learn and implement knowledge of the infrastructure business into new ways of using data to build impactful narratives through reporting for our various business units. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Basic experience with SQL, Power BI, is highly desirable. This position requires the ability to juggle competing priorities while delivering results.

Kiewit Data Services’ (KDS) mission is to make Kiewit the premier data-driven organization in our industry. To accomplish this, our projects and districts need to have the right data, of the right quality, with the right level of analysis, available to them at the right time. KDS is a cross functional organization with employees that have expertise in data, technology, support and operations backgrounds. Our core functions are data Quality, Governance, Enablement, Analytics and Data Science.


This position is based out of our Omaha, NE office.

To quickly learn the ins and outs of the business/data to better understand and communicate reports and data
Work with BI Managers to develop reports
Extract, transform, clean, and prepare data from various enterprise sources to conduct impactful analysis
Learn to manage projects
Will work with industry databases, and support in the development of innovative and strategic approaches to industry data vs. internal data
Follows and implements proper internal controls
Drives continuous improvement and is a proponent for positive change, is willing and open to receive feedback
Earns trust and credibility by thorough quality control of deliverables
Displays first-rate customer service skills - willing to help with a positive attitude when/where needed, and be helped with gratitude
Basic knowledge of reporting/data analysis
Familiarity working with data and quality control processes
Basic understanding of SQL, Power BI
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Effective communication (both oral and written), organization and interpersonal skills
Strong work ethic and proven ability to produce high quality results
Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
Familiarity with project management fundamentals
High level of professionalism and standards
Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship, both now and in the future

Additional Requirements:

Base Compensation: $55,000 - $80,000
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
