Job Description Summary:

Generates sales in the 2 to 99 group market, non-group, life and ancillary product lines of business per established production goals. Groups of 25+ require direct management oversight.
Maintains a high level of persistency throughout various lines of business.
Assists in the development and implementation of sales/corporate goals.
Provides continued service to enrolled group, non-group and ancillary product subscribers in a timely and professional manner.
Provides input to management as to customer needs and wants, competitive activity, market conditions and the delivery of products in terms of claims processing, billing and customer service at the local account/subscriber level.

Job Description:
GENERAL PURPOSE

Under general supervisor:
Generates sales in the 2 to 99 group market, non-group, life and ancillary product lines of business per established production goals. Groups of 25+ require direct management oversight.
Maintains a high level of persistency throughout various lines of business.
Assists in the development and implementation of sales/corporate goals.
Provides continued service to enrolled group, non-group and ancillary product subscribers in a timely and professional manner.
Provides input to management as to customer needs and wants, competitive activity, market conditions and the delivery of products in terms of claims processing, billing and customer service at the local account/subscriber level.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES [Core 25d]

Works toward quality initiatives.
Satisfactorily updates the prospecting database for each call (sales, service and otherwise) made during the course of business, and submits to the home office completed Weekly Call Summary, prospecting and pipeline reports on a timely basis. Activity reports must be entered into the Consumer Relationship Management system weekly.
Conducts outside sales and provides continued service to clients via telephone and on-site visits.
Represents BCBSWY to the community at large in a professional manner and in accordance with corporate guidelines at all times.
Develops expert knowledge of the features, benefits, and advantages of group, non-group, life and ancillary products in order to professionally and effectively present them to prospects and subscribers.
Possesses an understanding and working knowledge of the contents of group and non-group contracts both as to benefit administration and the legal requirements and obligations under which we operate as found in the Group Master/Benefit Booklet.
Conducts outside sales in accordance with the current eligibility and underwriting guidelines as set forth in the Underwriting Manual.
Contacts group and non-group prospects, and conducts fact-finding sufficient to meet established sales quotas as set forth by management.
Attends meetings and training sessions as scheduled by management.
Works in a professional manner with agents and brokers appointed by BCBSWY in assigned district.
Assists as needed to ensure Member Center is staffed appropriately to provide service to prospects and subscribers.
Meets established production goals by utilizing effective sales techniques and on-site visits.

CLIENT DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE EXPECTATIONS

Completes all planning, reports and assignments on a timely basis with skill to provide meaningful input and positive direction.
Strives to accomplish plans and goals as developed.
Will utilize best efforts to meet the goals assigned for production and persistency in each district.
Will assist in ensuring that appointed agents and brokers are representing BCBSWY in a manner consistent with corporate objectives.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & ABILITY: [Core 25b]

Ability to procure new group, non-group, and allied lines of business for BCBSWY through effective use of verbal and written communication skills, sales technique and a thorough knowledge of those products offered by BCBSWY, and those of our competitors.

EDUCATION, LICENSURE, OR FORMAL TRAINING: [Core 25a & 25c]

Bachelor’s Degree (typically in Marketing or Sales). Commensurate experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Must be currently licensed to sell health insurance in Wyoming or able to obtain in three months.

Current, valid driver’s license required.

EXPERIENCE: [Core 25a]

Four to twelve months of relevant work experience, typically in marketing or sales.

MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:
Automobile, PC and associated word processing, database and spreadsheet programs.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
Works in an open office environment. Job activities include public speaking, driving, writing, typing, use of a calculator. Moderate to high stress with defined performance goals. Automobile travel is required.
