St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport has more than 3,200 employees. It includes a 473-bed community teaching hospital, a 76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility in Westport, a large multispecialty provider group, and special needs services for adults and children. Job Summary:

• Performs a variety of administrative duties to support the assigned department(s).

Responsibilities:

• Composes, types and transcribes correspondence, forms, reports, presentation materials and other written

communications as required.

• Receives and screens visitors and telephone calls, and handles general inquiries.
• Schedules/coordinates meetings, conferences, special events, appointments and travel arrangements.

Maintains assigned calendar(s).

• Establishes and maintains filing systems. Orders and stocks supplies.
• Proficiently coordinates complex communication and information management activities to support office activities.
• Maintains records, bulletin board and all postings to ensure a smooth flow of communication related to

departmental activity and provides information and support to department.

• Demonstrates ability to be customer focused and able to effectively interact with a diverse population.
• May handle coordinating/scheduling procedures, insurance verification and billing based on specific

needs of department.

• Other Duties as assigned

Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration:Education:

• Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Work Experience:

• 2 or more years secretarial experience.
• Experience in a medical office, healthcare facility or hospital setting preferred.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and Outlook required and ability to quickly

learn other proprietary databases.
