The Long Island Rail Road Human Resources team is seeking contingent employees to support the COVID-19 response function. Members of the COVID-19 response team will be responsible for performing contact tracing on Covid positive employees, overseeing, and ensuring a smooth return to the workplace process for Long Island Rail Road employees and ensuring COVID benefits are paid accurately and timely. Individuals will be assigned to a specific department and have a reporting line into the HR team for that unit.

Responsibilities

Coordinate the ongoing end-to-end return to workplace process.
Advise employees of Covid benefit leave options and process accordingly.
Ensure Covid benefits are paid accurately and timely.
Collect, organize, and manage confidential data.
Learn the contact tracing process and support the function.
Initiate and close-out cases via the case management system.
Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information.
Communicate, follow up, and provide guidance to employees on return to workplace procedures.
Respond quickly and diligently to keep pace with the needs of the organization.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with LIRR HR staff and client groups.
Provide excellent customer service.
Maintain organized and detailed records.
Assist with administrative tasks of the LIRR HR department.

Qualifications

Experience handling sensitive, confidential employee information and/or working in HR.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to quickly learn new information.
Analytical skills, good judgement, and detail oriented.
Customer service focused.
Ability to work with technology.
Ability to multi-task.

Education and Experience

REQUIRED:
A bachelor’s degree or the equivalent work experience and one (1) to three (3) years of administrative experience working in a fast-paced environment.
A minimum of six months of HR administrative experience.

PREFERRED:
Covid – 19 Contact Tracing Certificate or completion of a related course may be considered.

Other Information

As an employee of MTA Headquarters, you may be required to complete an annual financial disclosure statement with the State of New York, if your position earns more than $101,379 (this figure is subject to change) per year or if the position is designated as a policy maker.
