The Laurel School District is seeking qualified applicants for part time Crossing Guard position(s) for the 21-22 school year. This is a Level III position, with a current starting wage of $14.11 per hour.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Supervise and provide safe passage of students from off school grounds to school grounds in the morning and from school grounds to off school grounds in the afternoons.
Maintain an orderly wait area for students needing to be picked up by parents.
Ensure that students eventually arrive safely to a supervised area on the school grounds where they are seen by other school employees.
Administer minor first aid as needed.
Scan duty area for remaining children and provide help to them if needed.
Maintains awareness of work environment and dresses appropriately to meet weather conditions
Notifies the building administrator immediately of any hazards or potential hazards in the work environment
Reports any accidents or injuries immediately to the building administrator
Exercises caution when using tools and equipment needed to do job
Strives to maintain an accident-free work place
Reports equipment malfunction and repair needs to the building administrator
Adheres to all rules/regulations as established in the district safety policy
Only minimum duties are listed. Other functions may be required as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to perform a variety of physical and mental work
Ability to work cooperatively, efficiently and effectively with students and adults
Ability to follow plans and instructions
Ability to manage students in an effective and consistent manner
