Job Description
Under general supervision performs a variety of manual, semi-skilled and moderately complex duties, which include but are not limited to driving small to medium duty trucks, operating equipment such as small to large tractors with various grass cutting implements. Must be able to perform related duties of the division such as mowing, weed eating, litter control, tree pruning, and weed treatment. Operate large and small tractors cutting grass along right of ways and detention basins. Set up signs and barricades for safe work zones. Cutting and clearing brush and trees from right of ways, drainage ditches and detention basins. Operate backpack sprayers, blowers and weed eaters. Driving medium duty dump trucks to haul debris and pull trailers loaded with equipment. Perform landscaping installation and maintenance such as small and large flower and shrub areas. Operate street sweepers, tractors mowing grass along right-of-ways; operate zero-turn mowers, experience pulling trailers. May act as temporary crew leader when needed. Working knowledge of operating procedures for various light equipment. Ability to read and understand operation manuals and chemical application instructions. Knowledge of standard safety practices. Ability to drive standard shift vehicles. Must have a valid Class B Driver"s License with Air Brakes endorsement, which must remain valid as a condition of continued employment. Must pass a background and driver"s license check, and physical exam, including a drug screen. Must be a high school graduate or have a GED. Will work in a non-smoking work environment. City of Bartlett resident preferred, but not required.

This is a federal requirement for all CDL holders and this registration must be completed before the hiring process. We will run a full query with the FMCSA Clearinghouse. Query results must be ‘Not Prohibited".
