ESU #3 Student Services Department is pleased to be adding an Early Learning Connection Professional Development Assistant Coordinator to our early childhood team.

We're looking for an early childhood champion who is passionate about taking a hands-on approach to promoting professional development.

Early Learning Connection (ELC) Omaha Region works collaboratively with regional partners in the counties of Cass, Douglas, Sarpy and Washington to ensure that a wide variety of professional learning opportunities are offered in response to the needs of educators who work with and care for children birth through age eight. Salary for this 220-day position will be negotiable based on education and experience, within the range of $55,000-$59,000 annually. Essential Requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience in early childhood care and education
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in face-to-face and online training and adult learning facilitation
  • No history of child abuse or negligence
  • Successfully pass required background checks
  • Regular and dependable in person attendance is required and is considered a condition of employment.
  • Preferred Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with diverse populations
  • Work experience as (or strong understanding of) an early childhood educator in a home-based setting
  • Essential Responsibilities:
  • Understand and comply with the ESU #3 Board of Education Personnel Policies and Employee Handbook.
  • Assist Lead Coordinator with the facilitation and delivery of professional development opportunities for early childhood educators.
  • Assist in coordinating the work of the ELC PD team which includes contracted trainers.
  • Support trainers in the development of program materials for face-to-face and online professional development opportunities.
  • Assist with onsite, offsite, or online events, as requested, occurring during the day, in the evening, or on weekends
  • Develop and maintain relationships with grant partners including, but not limited to, attending regularly scheduled partnership meetings.
  • Represent ESU #3 Early Learning Connection PD at various meetings and events.
  • Keep early childhood educators and grant partners informed of professional development programs through a variety of communication modes.
  • Assist with determining professional development needs identified by early childhood educators and grant partners and using findings to collaboratively develop an annual Professional Development Strategic Plan.
  • Assist with completing annual grant continuation application and grant reports, as requested.
  • Participate in scheduled NDE OEC and ELC meetings and calls.
  • Articulate, through word and action, the significant relationship between professional development and the quality of early care and education provided.
  • Regularly access the e-mail system for review of materials distributed from ESU #3.
  • Other duties as assigned.
