Summary:
Plan, develop and coordinate educational programs for K-12 educators and other stakeholders in the state in the areas of academic standards, instruction, and assessment.
Responsibilities:
Supervises and directs the research, analysis of information and stakeholder engagement efforts used in the review and revision of the state’s academic standards and minimum standards for public school approval.
Coordinates and facilitates professional development for New Hampshire educators, and collaborates with local educators and educator associations responsible for standards, instruction, assessment, and professional growth.
Facilitates meetings, workshops, seminars and professional development activities for the purpose of supporting K-12 education in New Hampshire.
Evaluates, analyzes, and interprets current research and recommendations for improving K-12 education; disseminate information relative to promising practices to local educators.
Develops annual and regular reports, publications, and studies related to standards, instruction, and professional development in K-12 education.
Monitors short and long-term goals and plans related to academic standards, instructional models and professional development systems; evaluates systems and operations.
Explains and defends operational practices and educational programing; provides testimony, when requested, by the Bureau Administrator, regarding proposed changes in state laws affecting to standards, instruction, and professional development in K-12 education.
Evaluates and directs the operation of educational programs under Federal and State grant funds, and prepares annual performance and data reports documenting the use of these funds.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Master’s degree from an approved college or university with a major study in Education, or a Master’s degree relevant to science plus thirty (30) additional hours of approved graduate study, workshops, seminars and/or training sessions in the field of education obtained subsequent to the Master’s degree.
Experience: Seven years’ experience in the field of education, five years of which must be in the area of instructional leadership.
Preferred Qualifications: Education and experience in teaching and providing professional learning opportunities in elementary or secondary science.
License/Certification :
1. Eligibility for NH educational certification.
2. Must have a valid driver’s license or access to statewide transportation
