Provide leadership for a portfolio of migrant education initiatives and services, including coordination and management of the State Migrant Education Program (MEP). Develop and expand programs and courses, build collaborations, and write grants to support educational objectives, meeting the needs of migrant farmworkers. Supervise both exempt and non-exempt staff, temporary employees and volunteers working in this programmatic realm. Supports internal unit program collaborations that meets the strategic vision for the 4-H, family, and migrant programs team. Contributes as part of the leadership team for 4-H, Family and Migrant Programs.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Master’s Degree and three years’ experience working in and around agricultural labor and the needs of migrant farm workers required. Experience with public school administration. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with program partners and collaborating agencies. Experience with successful grant writing. Experience hiring and supervising program staff, identifying and providing for their professional development to reach high program quality standards. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Demonstrated ability in supervising remote employees. Fluency in Spanish.
Desirable Qualifications
Experience with Migrant Education programs, in Vermont or other states.
