Job Description

Olsson survey teams provide our engineers and clients a full range of land surveying and geospatial services including traditional survey mapping, 3D laser scanning, and UAV mapping. As an Assistant Surveyor for the Des Moines, IA Survey Team, you will work primarily in an office setting under the direction of professional land surveyors assisting the survey team in the production of survey deliverables including Survey Plats, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, Boundary Surveys, Topographic Surveys, Construction Layout, and 3D Point Clouds.

Strong communication skills
Ability to contribute and work well on a team
An interest in land surveying, 3D laser scanning, UAV/drones, geospatial technology, building communities
A high school diploma with a willingness to learn an in-demand profession while being paid or bring your associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology or Land Surveying.
Basic verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to create legible notes, sketches, diagrams, etc.
Must have authorization to work permanently in the United States
Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Some construction experience is helpful but not required
Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work.
The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner

The typical hourly salary range for this position is $18 to $22 and is commensurate with experience relative to the position.
