The University Library is seeking to hire a Library Assistant II for the User Services and Technology Support department on a full-time basis at our Atlanta campus. The scope of the responsibilities will include these essential duties but is not limited to the following:

  • Assist with the management of intercampus and GIL Express transactions and receive, process, and organize incoming materials.
  • Establish effective working relationships with colleagues and counterparts across campuses and University System of Georgia institutions.
  • Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, staff, and the community.
  • Participate in day-to-day operations of the User Services & Technology Support department.
  • Circulate library materials and equipment, process renewals and requests, and ensure patron privacy and maintain confidentiality of records.
  • Provide general computer and equipment support and basic software assistance.
  • Responsible for closing the University Library on Friday.

Qualifications - External

High school diploma or GED and one year of library, customer service, or office experience; or a combination of education and related experience. Some positions may require typing skills (30 wpm).

Shift: Monday – Friday 11:00am – 8:00pm

Salary : $31,200 - $33,280

Pay Grade: 6

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Preferred Hiring Qualifications:
Recent circulation experience in a college/university library or public library system.
Strong organizational skills with an emphasis on accuracy and thoroughness.
Excellent problem solving and effective interpersonal skills.
Basic Level Microsoft Office Suite proficiencies (Word, Excel, etc.)
