Function/Duties of Position:
The pharmacy cashier greets customers, receives monies and makes change in exchange for goods or services; operates a cash register, may be required to balance cash and other methods of payment to revenue in accordance with OHSU and Pharmacy Department Policies and Procedures on cash handling, as well as applicable Board of Pharmacy regulations.

Required Qualifications:
Work experience or training, which includes the exchange of money for purchases and making change
Proven prior successful customer service experience
Excellent interpersonal communication skills
Systematic problem solving skills, ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to handle competing demands on their time from pharmacy customers and will need to effectively multi-task and prioritize demands
Ability to provide customers with exceptional service at all times
Must be able to handle frequent interruptions (work is often dictated by external factors) that may lead to mental fatigue or stress
Standing for long periods of time
Ability to perform many of their duties at a cash register
Intermittent standing, walking, stooping, crouching, talking and listening
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation

Preferred Qualifications:
H.S. Diploma or some college
Experience in a community pharmacy
