Hospital Pharmacy Technician Opportunity
Job Type: Full-time, Evenings, Monday- Friday 2 PM to 10:30 PM NO WEEKENDS!!
The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for technical and non-technical routine duties related to the acquisition, storage, and dispensing of medications and related supplies. The technician works under the direct supervision of a pharmacist and pharmacy buyer to complete all duties as required. Primary responsibilities of this position include transferring drug shipment from dock to designated areas. Other functions also include: preparing and dispensing unit dose medications and IV admixtures, medication delivery rounds to nursing units, and medication charge/credits. This work requires repetitive motion, standing, walking, reaching, stooping, lifting heavy objects up to 45 pounds, pushing heavy or bulky carts and at time this job is physically demanding, sometimes for extended periods of time.

Requirements for this role include:
High school diploma or equivalent is required
Active Illinois Pharmacy Technician license
Prior pharmacy technician experience preferred, but not required
Requires the ability to stand and walk 90% of the time. Requires the ability to reach, and lift up to 45 pounds.

Ability to work as a team player to accomplish optimal patient care by providing superior pharmaceutical services
Fast learner

Daily medication therapy collaboration with Pharmacists and Technicians
Train with advanced technology including:
Omnicell automated dispensing cabinets
MedCarousel/PACMed
DoseEdge
KitCheck
Receives drugs and stocks shelves in various pharmacy locations
Delivery of patient specific and stock medications/ fluids
Triage phone calls from prescribers and nurses
Serves as back up buyer
Performs other duties assigned
