Georgetown Market has an immediate opening for a Cashier – Customer Service. This position must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends.

We are looking for an efficient, courteous cashier-customer service associate who possesses excellent customer service skills.

Essential Functions:
1. Main cashier duties and responsibilities include ringing up sales, bagging items, requesting price checks, honoring coupons, collecting payment, and giving appropriate change

2. Responsible for counting the contents of the cash register drawer at the beginning and end of each shift, maintaining receipts, records, and withdrawals. Making sure there is adequate change

3. Responsible for checking materials and supplies and reporting when stock is low

4. Make sales referrals, cross-sell products, and introduce new products

5. Resolve customer complaints, guide them, and provide relevant information

6. Greet customers when entering or leaving Georgetown Market

7. Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas

8. Keep reports of transactions

9. Process returns and check to see if items are damaged

10. Answer customers' questions and get a manager if answer does not solve the issue

11. Exceptional customer service skills

Requirements

1. High school diploma or equivalent required

2. 0- 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area

3. Knowledge of commonly used cashier concepts, practices, and procedures

4. Works under immediate supervision of supervisor or manager and must rely on instructions in a fast-paced environment

5. Basic math

6. Telephone etiquette

7. Dependability, efficiency, punctuality, and flexibility

8. Basic (PC) computer knowledge

9. Attention to detail

10. Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and high level of accuracy

11. Commitment to company values and exceeding the customer’s expectations
