DESCRIPTION: The Fourth Judicial District Centralized Services Division is seeking to fill a Court Operations Clerk vacancy in the Contact Center.

This is a work-from-home position responsible for assisting court customers via phone, email and online chat. Court Operations Clerks in the Contact Center handle approximately 800 customer contacts daily regarding all court divisions, including Family, Probate/Mental Health, Juvenile, Criminal, Civil, and Records.

Contact Center Court Operations Clerks work remotely and are required to be connected to high-speed internet. Clerks must be able to come to the Hennepin County Government Center to repair/upgrade technological equipment or attend meetings and trainings as required.

Hours for this position are 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday. The initial start-up period of this position will be worked within the Division (in the Hennepin County Government Center, downtown Minneapolis) until the supervisor determines the employee is ready to work remotely.

Example of Duties

Respond to customer phone inquiries related to
General information for all court divisions
Case status and hearing information
Zoom hearing information and guidance on Zoom use
Respond to approximately 100 phone calls per day
Effectively use technological tools, such as
Minnesota Court Information System (MNCIS)
Minnesota Judicial Branch website, including Minnesota Public Access (MPA) and Minnesota Court Records Online (MCRO)
Online chat application
Cisco Phone System
Attend trainings and meetings as required by supervisor

Typical Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent
Six months experience working in customer service

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Ability to work remotely and manage tasks independently
Ability to connect to high-speed internet
Ability to understand court procedures and policies, legal documents, laws and legal factors pertaining to the court
Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with customers using the phone, email, and online chat
Ability to remain calm when handling difficult customer-related interactions over the phone
Successful applicant will be required to pass a criminal background check.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Proficient in MNCIS
Ability to troubleshoot technological issues
Experience working in an environment with a high volume of remote customer contact
Experience working in more than one court division
Experience effectively managing conflict and dealing with customers who may be upset, distressed, or confused

The expected starting salary for external candidates is at least $20.00 per hour and may be higher, depending on qualifications. This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is eligible for State of Minnesota employee benefits.
