Job Summary:

Markel Corporation (NYSE – MKL), a global insurance holding company, is adding to the Customer Service team to better service Markel customers! We’re currently seeking a Customer Service Representative (CSRs) who would like to increase their insurance knowledge and build their skills while making a positive impact on Markel’s customers. We provide exceptional customer service through our simple processes, honest communications and employee expertise.

Responsibilities include:
Work diligently to find resolution to customer concerns and escalate to appropriate level when necessary.
Convey information efficiently, effectively, and appropriately in order to meet the needs of the customer.
Strive for first call resolution in order to provide “best in class” service.

CSRs are required to stay current and knowledgeable of all procedures to ensure department standards and guidelines are meet, which include: Schedule Adherence, Quality Assurance, First Contact Resolution, Average Talk Time, Average Handle Time, Average Speed of Answer and Coding.

Qualifications/Skill sets:
Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
Dedicated to providing a positive customer experience
Communicate clearly and professionally over the phone
Strong technical background/ability to multi-task in several systems at once
Willingness to learn new material and systems/applications
Accountable and reliable
Bilingual preferred but not required

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college is a plus!
  • 1 or more years of prior customer service experience preferred
  • Demonstrated job stability and attendance records
  • Solid computer, grammar and multi-tasking skills
  • Comfort with a high-volume service center
Compensation: Starting pay ranges from $17.00 - $18.50/hour based on the candidate's experience, education, and insurance licensing status.

  • In addition to regular hourly pay, there is an annual Performance Bonus Potential.
Benefits Included : Immediate health & dental benefits, paid vacation and holidays, a 401k match, profit sharing, tuition reimbursement policy, hybrid working environment (3 days onsite and 2 days working from home), paid training onsite - up to 4 weeks and $1500 retention bonus paid out after six months with restrictions. Hours of operation depends on Sales or Service position.
