At Aurora Health Care the Food Service Assistant I is responsible for preparing, arranging, garnishing, and serving quality food in a timely manner to patients, staff, and visitors. They deliver patient trays, nourishment feedings, and specialty meals to patient rooms and delivers stock to units. They perform other sanitation functions including maintaining refrigeration spaces and dish room duties as directed.
Works in a fast-paced environment while providing excellent customer service
Prepares and serves food and beverages to the medical center staff and guests
Uses point of sale register system with multiple payment methods
Performs sanitation of workstation, equipment using established sanitation procedures
Restocks retail areas to maximize sales potential
Adheres to recipe standards and measurements to produce consistent quality products

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Basic knowledge in food service from within a hospital, hotel, restaurant or a related environment.Ability to read and understand written and oral communications.Good communication and customer service skills to effectively interact with internal and external customers.Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office or similar products. Ability to use e-mail and internet.
