Responsibilities
The Division of General Internal Medicine & Health Services Research is seeking a Statistician to perform data base construction, data management and statistical analysis for the UCLA RISE UP Study. Primary job duties include statistical programming, collaborating on data management, data quality control, designing study databases, conducting statistical analyses and contributing to manuscript preparation. A degree in biostatistics, statistics or related field as well as experience using statistical software (particularly STATA, SAS and R) for the data management, analysis and visualization required.
- This is a 100%, limited appointment, 3-month program that may convert to career.*
Required:
- Knowledge of statistics
- Knowledge of study design
- Proficiency in statistical software application, notably STATA
- Ability to conceptualize desired tables and graphs and create them from raw data
- Ability to recognize and use statistical terminology
- Ability to use standard software such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Ability to write manuscripts
- Skill in speaking clearly and distinctively using appropriate vocabulary and grammar to obtain and convey information within and outside the university
- Bachelor’s Degree
