Duties

The incumbent must possess the skills and knowledge to supervise, plan, direct and administer linen/uniform collection, distribution, repair and housekeeping activities of an assigned operational team in the Textile Care Section.

  • Supervises the collection of soiled linen and delivery of clean linen.
  • Authorized user of the government purchase card.
  • Specialized support services in the development and implementation of performance improvement measures, data collection and analysis and preparation of reports.
  • Assistance and guides employees that are under them.
  • Maintains accountability and security of linen and uniforms and maintains all records necessary for accountability and statistical records.
  • Plans the use of workers, equipment, facilities, materials, and tools on a day-to-day basis.
  • Adheres to work priorities, project schedules, resources, and detailed work plans established by higher level supervisors.
  • Inspects completed work for quality and work order requirements.
  • Reports possible and actual work delays.
  • Recommends performance ratings, training, disciplinary actions, changes in performance standards, and the most suitable applicants for vacancies.
Work Schedule: Monday- Friday 6am-2:30pm

Physical Requirementst: Required to work continuously on concrete or tiled flooring. May be required to do heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs), standing, stooping and bending. Must be able to climb ladders, move heavily loaded carts and work in congested areas.

Working Conditions: Work is normally performed in a well-lighted and climate controlled atmosphere. Incumbent must be able to perform duties in a very busy environment, working around delicate equipment without disturbing patients and staff. Incumbent may be required to work weekends and holidays. Incumbent may be required to work shifts other than the one hired for and work beyond normal working hours when necessary.
