The Training Instructor is responsible for delivering classroom training to Thompson Tractor Company technicians and customer employees in accordance with Company and Caterpillar standards. The position requires continuous learning in order to maintain an expert level of knowledge on various systems, models, and machines.
Moderate overnight travel within the Thompson territory will be required. Instructors are also required to attend multi-day out of territory factory led training classes and events each year in order to stay up to date on systems and equipment.
- Develop and deliver service training courses
- Design, build, and maintain appropriate training aids and materials
- Conduct hands-on lab exercises in conjunction with class sessions
- Schedule instructor led courses and coordinate classroom availability
- Administer knowledge and skills assessments and certify mechanics
- Work with division supervisors and managers to address training needs
- Participate in or conduct monthly branch service meetings
- Stay up to date on products and systems
- Maintain a strong professional image
- Other duties assigned by management
Required
Must have experience working as a service technician. Experience using Microsoft 365 and basic typing skills are required for this position.
