The Workers’ Compensation Analyst handles a large volume of Worker’s Compensation insurance recovery files from inception to closure. This includes investigating and validating workers’ compensation claims and recovering on payments made in error by the Company’s health insurance clients.

Hours: Day shift, 40-hour work weeks. During training, 8am - 5pm. Flexible schedule options available between 7am - 7pm after six months of employment.

Setting: Professional office environment (remote opportunity may be available after one year of employment).

Compensation: Salary, $47,000 with significant bonus opportunity. An experienced analyst earns $75,000 to $85,000 per year. Training: The Rawlings Company takes pride in providing exemplary training and development programs via in-person instruction. Training covers our state-of-the-art proprietary systems and many other tools to place Analysts on the path to success. The next training program is scheduled to start on April 25, 2022.

Responsibilities

Conducts an initial review of file set-up information and claims history.
Validates all information associated with the workers’ compensation claim, injury or illness.
Identifies and initiates necessary actions to secure recovery. This includes working with the workers’ compensation carrier and provider networks on accepted cases, and filing liens and negotiating settlements on disputed cases.
Updates status information on Subrogation Recovery System and potentially other supporting systems.
Initiates follow-up procedures to ensure that all files are being worked in accordance with departmental standards.
Processes recoveries or close files in accordance with departmental standards.
Meets daily inbound and outbound call goals. This position requires extensive use of the telephone contact.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in the health insurance, related fields, which would provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work.
Minimum of one year subrogation experience or equivalent preferred.
Strong knowledge of current workers’ compensation procedures helpful but not required.
Self-motivated and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills.
Strong analytical skills.
Ability to identify and communicate process improvements to increase the effectiveness of the department.
