About the opportunity

Department Description

The Technology function provides IT services to support Fidelity Taiwan business operation and growth. These include the development and support of business applications that underpin our revenue, operational, compliance, finance, legal, marketing and customer service functions. The broader organization incorporates Infrastructure Services that the firm relies on to operate on a day-to-day basis including data center, networks, proximity services, security, voice, incident management and remediation.

The Business Solutions team roles consist of Business Analyst, System Analyst and change Management for providing the application change delivery capability. The collective responsibility of the team is to manage the business and technology project and drive delivery of technology solutions for Taiwan Business.

Purpose of your role

The Business Analyst plays a key role in delivering technology solutions throughout the project. The successful candidate needs to be personable, articulate, and able to rapidly form relationships with business stakeholders as you will work closely with business representatives and the technology team to define a mutually agreed set of project requirements and solutions. You will be required to effectively influence and assist key stakeholders displaying a high degree of emotional intelligence as well as having strong facilitation skills to help take initiatives forward.

The candidate will prepare professional documentation to capture user stories, acceptance criteria and context information. You should have the ability to interpret complex business issues and understand the associated technical implications. You will ensure the core strategic business goals are understood and will help shape large, high risk and complex initiatives. You will work collaboratively with various teams globally to ensure that solutions address the requirements of the business.

The candidate must have knowledge of working in an Agile environment using Agile tools and techniques as well as business analysis tools and techniques. You will have experience working with full scale Scrum or Kanban and be a competent user of Jira and Confluence.

The candidate should have general investment products and operations knowledge and business analysis skills including the defining, analysing and documenting business requirements, designing technical and workflow solutions as well as managing the delivery, testing and deployment of those solutions to delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Project Execution

  • Provide input into project timelines, estimation, action plans and risk management procedures
  • Ensure timely completion of work packages in line with project deadline and schedule
  • Act as a proxy customer facilitating open communication between the internal customer and development teams
Requirements Planning and Management
  • Work with Business Sponsors to agree on the Terms of Reference for changes
  • Ensure that all Stakeholders have a common understanding of what is being delivered
  • Be self-sufficient in identifying and understanding business requirement/issues/risks
  • Identify & escalate as appropriate, issues & instances where an agreed target or deadline is at risk or will not be met
Requirements Analysis and Documentation
  • Form part of the conversation with the business on their target operating model
  • Identify requirements effectively and efficiently
  • Produce different forms of analysis documentation to an appropriate and agreed level of depth
  • Deliver presentation or workshop sessions on requirements to stakeholder groups and technology delivery teams
  • Regularly review and edit requirements, specifications, business processes, estimates and recommendations relating to the proposed solution, to ensure they are up to date throughout the life cycle of the project
Embedding (e.g. Testing, Training, Support, Process Re-engineering etc.)
  • Support the Test function with knowledge that aids test scripting & execution, including handovers & walkthroughs
  • Work with the tech/business testers to define defects, acceptable tolerances within various types of testing
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems, identify root causes and provide resolutions
Experience and Qualifications Required

  • Business Analysis experience including project management and execution methodologies
  • Strong experience working on all phases of the IT systems development life cycle
  • Financial Services, and/or Consultancy experience
  • Technical understanding and the commercial acumen to exploit IT for competitive advantage
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies
  • Excellent understanding of software design and programming principles
  • Knowledge of the .NET languages (e.g. C#, Visual Basic .NET)
  • Good understanding of data and data modelling to assist with various reporting request and systems integration planning
  • Understanding of and experience cloud solutions on AWS platforms would be advantageous
  • Knowledge with investment trading process flow and Charles River would be advantageous
  • Excellent requirements analysis and consultative skills with analytical thinking and problem-solving capability
  • Adaptable to working in multi tasks with the ability to operate effectively with minimum oversight and guidance
  • Excellent communication (written & oral), interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Excellent documentation, facilitation & presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a demanding and fast paced environment with speed and discipline
  • Confident working with senior management across multiple business areas
  • Ability to review proposed solutions and make recommendations
  • Fluent in both Mandarin and English
